Rapper Crooger is on an inspired journey that is fuelled by a burning passion and bound by strong family values.

“I got my first studio money from my mother when everyone else did not believe I was cut for the music trade. She is the best mother in the world. We are three boys and l am the only one who does music in my family although my little brother is also showing interest,” says Crooger.

“In my early stages l was told that l can’t sing because of my deep voice, but I have since proved people wrong after discovering I can do a lot with (my voice). The negative comments actually motivated me to keep on improving my craft,” he told The Sunday Mail Society in a piece profiling him. With reason he has silenced the evergreen naysayers and slayers, but this is self earned through hard-work, perseverance and passion and this has ultimately spurred him to become of the most sought after hip hop artists to come out of Zimbabwe.

He draws his inspiration from everday situations and he strives to have his music to articulate, build and nurture others and also being a voice for down trodden.

His debut album, “Road to Fame”, delivered strong and catchy anthems, such as  “Mabroke Dudes” featuring MMT, “Zvirikufaya” featuring Nyasha Timbe, “Tambatione”, and “I Want Her.The album was hot that in his debut year Crooger  won the best Album Art gong at the 2013 Zim Hip-Hop Awards, and also got him two nominations in the Best Album and Best New Comer categories.

As in the old adage, the rest is history, in 2018 he released a 22-track album titled “Shumba Inoruma” which is doing exceptionally well on itunes and Deezer. In August 2019 he performed at Zimfest hosted annually in the United Kingdom and in September 2019 he toured Australia with Dj Tira and King 98 doing shows in Melbourne and Perth.

Enterprising Crooger launched a line of school exercise books called Shumba Inoruma which were well received by the stationery industry and is inspired by investor Warren Buffet, Ali Dangote and Bill Gates. He also draws al lot of inspiration and speaks highly of fellow trendsetter and hip-hop artist Takura.

He is currently working a 12 to 15 track album with collaborations with notable names such as R Peels, Tashamiswa and Probeatz that he hopes to drop in late 2020.
