Shingirai Makaza
19 September 1997

Tanto Wavie, born Shingirai Makaza on the 19 September 1997 in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. He grew up in the mean streets of Zengeza, attending his primary and secondary school in the satellite town of Chitungwiza. From an early age he had a burning passion for arts starting off as a dance-hall chanter and later fell in love with hip hop, his rise to fame could not have been calculated by anyone but himself.

In 2018 the Black Vendetta artist/ producer pulled one of the best trolling gimmicks on the Zimbabwean entertainment scene– backed by skilfully produced quality music – and landed himself a best newcomer award nomination in the 2018 Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards.

To keep with the momentum from the “Someone Had to Smoke It” troll, Jazzman, Bag, and Dang Number Tanto Wavie dropped a 12-track album titled Wavie available in major stores. Wavie recruits features from Chiefzone, Ninja Kid, Clyde Banks, Beav City, and Nyasha Guyoto paint his picture. This project highlights Tanto Wavie’s talent to make irresistible hit records.

Inspired by the desire for self affliction, the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Best New Comer 2018 – record producer, rapper, singer and songwriter songs’ are a reflection of his upbringing, for which he is proud of. He has since released his second studio album titled "Wavie 2". Available on all digital platforms
